Weekly Photo

Sometimes we use the expression above the clouds.
This is it.
Walking above the clouds.
Teide Peak. Tenerife.

'Walking above the clouds' sounds more poetic than 'walking on air'.

I love flying above the clouds.

You really have travelled!

GG: We don't travel half as much as we'd love to.

bunny jo: Mine! You seem to be a bigger fan of her, but currently only 3 of her photos are on flickr, if I am not mistaken. Sorry.

tall glass: I wish I could take a photo of that too. Come to think about it I wouldn't mind taking hundreds of such photos, one each day... ;)

I have been to the Canary Islands and I don't remember this! You could also get a shot like this from the top of Mauna Kea. I'll see if I can find some and forward to you.

Hawaiian is full of poetic names. Here are a few:

"Haleakala" means House of the Sun.

"Kai opua" is Hawaiian for the billowing clouds you see at the horizon line in Hawaii. And the name of a canoe club here.
-
"Napo'opo'o" = Pathway of the gods.

kris: Maybe you never got a really cloudy day in Tenerife. On most cloudy days, if you go up to mount Teide you usually get above the clouds and can enjoy the sun, even if bellow you is raining.
