September Memories
Strangely I always liked September.
In spite of the Summer ending, the first rains and all the other things most people hate about this month. Most of the stuff others claim to be depressing always seemed relaxing to me.
When I was a kid it was the end of the holidays, the start of a new school year. And I loved it! Yep, just as geek as that.
When I got to college it was even better. That's right better.
You see, after an entire Summer a guy is broke, never happened otherwise. And at least getting back to college meant less expenses. Also meant meeting a new 'batch' of freshers at least half of them chicks. I seldom had part-time jobs during Summer after getting to college. I had a few Summer jobs during high-school but afterwards the Summers were too precious to 'waste' any time working, so I only got anything to even my credit during the winter time.
Even now, half of my holidays are in Spring and the other half in the Fall, so the end of Summer means also my holidays are coming.
One thing strange about all this is that I get the feeling I'm always going the 'wrong' way. Whenever people go I'm already coming back...

No, no, no, no!!! The Fall is NOT my favorite time of the year. My favorite time of the year is Spring, and then Summer. I like September, that's it. By the end of October I'm completely fed up with Fall. It's not really Winter yet and it's no longer Summer.
:)
I love september bc i love new beginnings, this is the first time in i guess 18 or so years that i won't have classes to prepare for. I also love september bc it's my birthday, and also (unlike you) fall is my favorite season, and then spring.
i love september also-
so what's the vacation plan for you this fall?
vesparosso: Portugal is a country 'best served hot'! Spring and Summer are the favorite seasons for most people here.
ale: Oregon. Again. So Good Half and I can spend a few weeks together. :D
As a child, September meant going back to school after a long, long June-August holiday. Hated school as a child.
I liked September in Jamaica, it meant rain. Rain in Jamaica means cool, dark mountains.
Now September is neutral.
Oh, by the way Dcver, maybe others are going the 'wrong way'?
I love the change of season. I am always ready for a new season no matter what is coming up.
We have labor day this weekend, and I actually get a day off during the weekday...Nice.
Fall - Spring - Winter - Summer are the favorite to least favorite seasons.
christine: I'll try and explain myself better next time. :)
GG: Now you have the same weather all year round, right?
Going in a different direction sometimes seems strange but it is not bad. During college I used to go from the center of Lisbon to the suburbs at rush hour, just opposite most people, very easy to get there, and at the same time strange, clear road my going my way, huge jam the other.
lisa: Great. I would think you'd have lots of work on a holiday like Labor Day.
It is still hot on the Big Island in Sept., until about the end of October. THEN comes our dream time! November through Feb. Stars chilled by clear winter skies! Whales migrating to our islands AND warm weather in the day. Too lovely.
Sept. was always hot in California when we started school, usually with no a/c.
Take your laptop and blog from Oregon, OK? Will you visit the coast?
kris: What is a/c? No such thing when I was in school. At least not in the schools I've been to. Even in college most of our classes were in rooms withou a/c! The few halls that had a/c were a real luxury. As for taking a laptop, I won't. Good Half has hers there and we also have a desktop at our place in Oregon. No need to carry another machine back and forth.
We usually take at least one meal in Newport, but I'm not sure if we're going there this time. Anyway it's only in November. Better not think too much about it now.
Yes, in Guyana it's "summer" all year long. Apart from the rainy season.
Still hated school though.
i am always ready for a change of season I love it
