And then Sintra...
Less than an hour driving from Lisbon we find this town in the middle of the mountains.
Sintra has a particular microclimate due to its height and proximity to the sea, this and the abundance of water makes plants grow in a luxuriant way.
That's what makes it possible to have such a trail to walk at 2 PM, shade. | |
This bountiful area has always attracted people and having a house here was always a
privilege of only a few, reason why most of the houses are in fact palaces, some of them ‘hidden in the middle of the forest’.
In fact Palácio Nacional da Pena was one of the summer residences of our kings, when
Portugal was still a monarchy.
And anyone that visits Sintra must visit also Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle).

What fascinates me / motivates me are the details people took the time to include in their work...the intricate carvings, the pots of plants, the colours.
Those really do make a difference.
Australia/NZ, African safari and serengity, South American jungles, and now this... I wonder if I will be able to see all these beautiful places in this lifetime.
Time to do a marketing MBA course, aye?
typical portuguese palm trees?
GG: then you should just wait for the last day's photos...
penny lane: she is a good friend and she would have done the same for us, I bet
anoop: MBA? So you can get rich? Is that your plan?
Dunno about the rich thing, but all my bosses in the previous company, complete idiots (hahahhaahaaa well why not when I can), travelled a lot. MBA in marketing means lots of travelling.
That was good dcver, and you snuck in a history lesson umong the pictures-- very sneaky :)
Anoop- i think working in a small company gives you an oportunity to travel- (in leu of getting an MBA and climbing the corp. ladder in a huge company) don't dismiss small companies yet.
ummmm 40 guys in my last company in India... lol it wasnt really big. And personally, I prefer smaller companies to bigger companies. Lesser mess to deal with, right? :)
