Summer at last!!!

Not that it means holidays for me, unlike most people in Portugal I am working through the summer months.
But even so, summer at last.
In a couple of days it will be July, with most people ‘migrating’ to the southern part of the country.
Lisbon changes it’s pace, becomes a less crowded city. It is quite nice to walk around the city when it has fewer people. That is one of the motives I like working through the summer. Public transportation is a lot less crowded, there is less traffic, so whenever I bring the car to the city I don’t have to put up with so many jams. Yes, I do live in the suburbs, and that is part of it too.
Living outside Lisbon, and some 20 mins from the beach, I can always leave work and get myself some seaside rest by the end of the day.
A nice sunset over the ocean, with the right company, and life seems a lot better.

Sounds like bliss, no crowd, no traffic jams. You can take your time and explore. Lisbon sounds beautiful.

We don't have summer. We have rainy seasons. Mango season, pineapple season...

Sorry Tom, but you guys already had your summer, while we were freezing up north. Now it's our turn to enjoy the warmth.

My brother used to sing a song, think it was by Mungo Jerry, in the summer time when the weather is fine. That song is a classic!

I don't know the name of the song, all I know is the line, 'in the summer time, when the weather is fine...' something something 'you can touch the sky...' It really is the most joyful song I've heard about summer.
