Today is Good Half's birthday.
The most beautiful, smartest, sweetest woman in the whole wide world!
Well, at least as far as I am concerned.
Too bad she is too stressed out finishing her thesis.
Hopefully this will be the last time we spend her b-day on different continents.
For my part, in solidarity with her work, instead of spending this national holiday resting I'm hauling some of the old furniture into the new place.
Celebrations are postponed for now, but the delay won't make them any smaller.

Belated happy birthday to your 'Good Half'. I'm sympathetic that you're so far apart from each other but count your blessings! We are living in an age of easy communication. My parents made the mistake of being in their twenties during the Second World War. One of them was in India and the other Torquay for most of the duration. With letters taking three months to arrive (if they did at all) it's a wonder that their relationship survived and that my sister and I later had the good fortune to be born!

Oh, and the Good Half instead off Better Half is kind of a private joke of my own Gordy: like she is the only good part of the couple... me being the nasty part.
