Packing has started

Although there is still more than a month before the moving.
Somehow it is starting to seem a bit suicidal doing it on my own...
Fortunately some friends already started to step forward and volunteered to help.
For the big stuff however I'll hire the pros.
Not much time to read blogs today, but tomorrow I'll update my readings.

DC, You ARE the guy! I commend you for packing!
I wouldn't know where to start!

I know that this weekend, Karen will be doing our packing for our two weeks in Spain!
We moved house 6 years ago and unfortunately or...fortunately I had a bad back!....So I didn't lift a finger!
Well done!
PS: Do you do work out in the gym in between packing?

dc, I must say, this is very organized compared to my move. All the boxes match.

And as I said, moving is a lonely, lonely business.

Wish I could come there and lend you a hand.

Ooo, I like your packing style. I always put detailed inventory lists on my boxes or a descriptor that will tell me exactly what is in it, i.e. art and picture drawer. That way, when I'm in dire need of that corkscrew and bottle of wine, I can put my hands right on it! :)

tall glass: Critical stuff will be the last packed and the first moved, all in separate boxes. BTW most of the CD are in the critical stuff class.
As for the wine opener, that would never be critical, after all my swiss army knife is always in my belt!!:D

cream: Actually she would do it faster and nicer. But thank you anyway.

cadiz: Thank you. It will go smothly, I am not in a hurry and that helps a lot.

kris: Maching boxes are easier to cram together and to pile. Being lazy has its advantages.

isis: The secret will be to unpack only the critical stuff and let the rest wait until GH is back.

bunny jo: Every box is labeled and numbered. Detailed inventory is in my computer and a printout will be left in both houses.

ale: I wish there were a few less containers though...

iluvnyc: Just half a click away from my current house. We're moving to a slightly bigger place, nicer and without any neighbors above.

I HATED PACKING when I moved to Jamaica then home again.

But I like to pack for other people, then I get to see their stuff :-D

Oh man, you look so organised.

D,

Returned from a couple of days in Wales only to be confronted with photos of your moving. What's the machine behind them boxes? Is it some catholic instrument of torture, maybe related to the holy Inquisition? Or might it be a sports machine, guaranteed only to bring a person pain? I have to know because just looking sends a frisson up my catholic spine. Ah, heady days, pain, damnation, slipped discs...

dan: Those are our weights machine, our static bike and our rowing machine (barely visible). Hidden but also in the vicinity is our mini-stepper. I guess you can consider them torture machines of a kind, yet this is only kind of self-imposed torture we indulge on. No cilices or any such crap.

bent: Yup, bet you do. Ready to move?
