Stress relievers
One of our most important stress relievers is now in place and ready to use again.
I've tested it thoroughly this morning and it doesn't seem to be falling down.
Throwing some punches and kicks is rather energy draining I tell you, even if you’re not stressed out nor feeling angry it helps relaxing.
Same as jumping some rope. Jumping rope is kid’s play? Try it for some half an hour and get back to me…
Now I’ll give a rest to my sore muscles and I’ll try and reply to the comments left in my absence and start catching back on the blogs I read.
Take care everybody!

I have to try it myself (beer muscle, you know) :)
My co-worker told a story when he and his mate went to the boxing club to take some training (relaxing purposes). They made some warm ups etc (I tell you - they're both gym-men, regulary training guys) and after wich, trainer asked them if they want to have try themself against each other. They did. After one, 4-minute round they were both dead :) and resigned to start next one :) Hehehehe. The other one of my co-workers is training boxing in a regular way (3 times a week) and the another one came there. After one half an hour lesson (they don't fight, just train) he was laying on the bench for like two hours just to get back on his feet to go home :) Yeah, it IS exhausting :)
Welcome back, DC!
Glad you're up and running again and that the move is over and done with...
Shame about not being able to hit the beach, especially in this hot weather! Even up ours, it's around 28 every day!
I can recommend early retirement (or aposentadoria adiantada if Google's translation to Portuguese can be trusted) for the relief of stress. Lucky me to get the chance. Welcome back, I hope your internet connection is now problem free......
shyha: The first time GH tried the punching bag she got tired in just a couple of minutes at it.
cream: Thanks. Well, at least the place is ready to welcome GH when she comes back and then we'll both have some free time to go to the beach together! And it is nice to hit the beach after a day's work.
hughes: Early retirement at 33? Not possible here. Unless I could do it at my own expenses... which is also not possible. But thanks for the hint, I'll take it as soon as possible. ;)
good to have you back. you might take off again when GH gets back! lots of catching up i'm sure *wink*
there is nothing like getting your stress out on a punch bag. did taekwondo for 3 months and love the kicks and the punches. Yoga and Pilates do nothing for me! :D
I boxed a little when I was a kid, and the thing I remember the most was the intense emotional conflict I felt when I was fighting my friends. I eventually quit because I got beat up too much.
Yay, welcome back.
Skipping rope for 1/2 hour is STRESSFUL!!
nyasha: Thanks. You're probably right, probably in the first few days after her arrival I won't be blogging much. But I think you'll all forgive me for that. :)
chill daddy: The time I used to fight more was back in the boy scouts, weird as it may seem. We used to fight among ourselves mostly as a way to learn self defense. Boxing is not one of my favorite sports because the fights are way too violent and its use as a defense method is rather limited, but the physical preparation boxers do is one of the best you can get. I'm still a little pressed with some things related with the moving so I didn't have time to start reading your short novels, but I will as soon as things quite a bit.
GG: Thanks. It's good to be back, now I can go on reading your stories.
33 eh? I remember 33, our first child was born when I was 33. Great joy mixed with mild panic at the realisation we entered a twenty year plus commitment!
Don't worry; you've only got 19 years to wait until you reach the age when I got my lucky break and my early pension. Meanwhile keep pounding that punch bag......
Jumping rope is great for cardio activity. I've been trying unsuccessfully to sell that notion to skeptical friends.
hughes: I will, I will...
bent: And to improve coordination too, you can add that to your brochures ;)
