What if instead of just "e" I would patent also "w" and "n" and "a"?

Does this sound like a stupid post? Well, that is how the software patents sound to some of us.
If you want to learn more about it click on the picture, if you don't just relax, but don't forget that one of these days you probably won't afford to change your mind on this subject.
For those outside Europe who think this is just an European issue, remember that if the software patents are accepted by the EU the impact will be global.

Hmmm, just glanced through it. We have nothing like that going on in the U.S. -- that I know of....
kris: The lobby that is promoting this in the EU is the front for several major corporations. They have been trying to get these patents to work in the US too. They lost the battle here in July, but they are stirring again. We can not let people forget about what is at stake. The first big battle was won, but new battles may be still waiting to happen.

I just read the article and thought, once more, poor Europe.
GG: What is most terrifying in all this is the fact that although the first battle was won when the European Parliament rejected the software patents law the war is not over yet, but most people have never even heard about it. Had this law been approved and most people would learn about it after it was too late.
True that laws can be changed, but this one could do a lot of damage before being repealed.
