Happy New Year
To each and every one of you.
To all those who've left me New Year greetings: thank you.
These last few days Good Half and I have been extremely busy, same as the next few days. This is supposed to be the year she ends her PhD and we have some big plans for 2006.
For the time being it is mostly work and on top of that some more work, for the both of us.
What about you guys, any particular plans or resolutions for 2006?

I just read an article about how people make their resolutions overly ambitious, and therefore fault themselves if they don't complete them. I think in my case, I just want to complete an estate plan. That's it. Important if you have property, but especially if you have children.

There's only two resolutions for me: physical fitness and my masters degree project.
- Stopping smoking (boring resolution)
- Going out midweek instead of crashing out at 7.00 pm every night
- Visiting my friends in far-flung places
Resolution? Get back to semi-retirement as soon as Casa del Mar is up and running smoothly.

Happy new year! I think 2006 will be a good one.
My resolutions are simple-- Get a job, get married, and learn to speak Portuguese like a local (a Brasilian local, that is).
Boa ano novo a voce y a sua mulher.
As you can probably tell by the mistakes I made in that less-than-ten-word sentence (though I don't know if I've made any mistakes or not, since my Portuguese is that bad), my resolution is to freaking learn Portuguese....of course, I will still pretend that I don't speak it when it benefits me, such as when my granny-in-law is talking non-stop about the importance of church and lighting candles for her favorite saints/ and paying promises at Fatima and such.

tacit: She's nearly done. It's a PhD on mud cakes (as I usually tease her), though they call it oceanography.

My resolution is to stay strong, stay true to myself and treat people with respect.
I have split up with my significant other and need to stick up for myself. Any thoughts my way are appreciated.

Splitting up brings on anxiety, stomache issues for me, emotional issues, I can only know that this is for the best, and this too shall pass......
I wish everyone a Happy New Year, and I wish myself clarity of mind and courage.
lisa: There really is no point in "suffering by antecipation", and that is what anxiety is in a way, if things evolve into something nice there is no point in being anxious, if they don't either you can change that or you have to learn how to live whit what you got, either way there is no point in get too stressed out about the future. Hope you have a great 2006.
Thanks - I actually do feel better this morning although it felt I was going to fall apart yesterday.
